With reference to my despatch No.56 of the 10th instant, I have the honour to report that in anticipation of your approval of Mr. C.W. Duggan's appointment as Secretary to the Sanitary Board, I have sanctioned provisionally, on the recommendation of the Captain Superintendent of Police, the following promotions in the Police Department:-

1. Mr. Ng Puk Shang, 2nd Clerk, to be 1st Clerk and Accountant at an initial salary of $1,320 per annum rising to $1,800 per annum by annual increments of $120.

2. Mr. Kotewall, 3rd Clerk, to be 2nd Clerk at $720 per annum.

3. Mr. Kwok Fung, 4th Clerk, to be 3rd Clerk at $600 per annum.

4. Sergeant Interpreter Ng Yau Sang to be 4th Clerk at $360 per annum.
